I'm sure that not many people can say, hand on heart, that they've never truly broken the law. The mere act of living life can end up with anybody on the wrong side of the authorities, punishment or not. If you own a car, it's inevitable that you will have strayed a couple of miles over the speed limit now and then. Even if you can't drive, who can honestly claim they've never jaywalked on a quiet street?
Almost anywhere, we can find a whole list of mundane daily occurrences that do not abide to the letter of the law. Moral of the story: never travel anywhere without checking the temperature of the local authorities first.
